Practical PEEPs

This course provides training on how to develop effective emergency arrangements and PEEPs for disabled and vulnerable people.  It is aimed at building managers and those responsible for the preparation and development of emergency arrangements for disabled and vulnerable people.

The course is in six parts and takes approximately two hours to complete.

Learners also have access to the ‘Building Safety: The New Era’ course, at no additional charge, and have 30 days to complete the courses unless on the annual subscription.

Target audience:  Building managers and those responsible for preparing and delivering PEEPs.

CPD:  3 hours.

Briefcase Documents: Worked examples, PEEP/PcFRA fillable form templates and course notes.

Part 1: An Introduction. Emergency planning for vulnerable people and how the physical environment can be improved.

Part 2: Legislation and Guidance. An overview of legislation and guidance.

Part 3: Person-centred Fire Risk Assessments (PcFRAs). How to identify risks and introduce measures on how to reduce risk for individuals:

  • Engagement
  • Hazards and prevention measures
  • Detection, warning and suppression
  • Assessing level of risk
  • Preparing and implement an action plan.

Part 4: Adjusting the Environment. A recap on the information in PEEPs Essentials “Adjusting the Environment”.

Part 5: Developing a PEEP

  • Planning
  • Resolving the challenges
  • Service dogs
  • Assisted escape devices
  • Data management.

Part 6: Triple A Solutions Fillable Forms. An introduction to Triple A Solutions’ approach to documenting PEEPs/PcFRAs.

Part 7: A Final Review. An opportunity to re-enforce the learning. Learners must achieve an 100% pass rate before the CPD certificate is provided.


PEEPs & Neurodiversity

It is estimated that one in seven people or more than 15% of the UK population are neurodivergent with a range of neurodiversity including Attention Deficit Disorders, Autism, Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia.

This supplementary course addresses the challenges for fire professionals and Responsible Persons of developing evacuation plans for neurodivergent people.

Target audience

Building managers and those incurring responsibility for preparing and delivering PEEPs.

CPD:  2 hours.

Briefcase Documents:  PEEP examples and course notes.

Please note:  This is a supplementary course, and the Practical PEEPs course must be completed prior to this course being undertaken.

Part 5: Triple A Solutions Fillable Forms – this part can be bypassed if the subject has already been undertaken in a different course.

Part 6:  A final review giving an opportunity to re-enforce the learning. Learners must achieve an 100% pass rate before the CPD certificate is provided.


PEEPs & Specialised Housing

Target audience

Building managers of independent living, sheltered housing and care homes who are legally responsible for emergency planning.

CPD:  2 hours.

Briefcase Documents: Worked examples and a wide range of relevant fillable forms that provide evidence of legal compliance in manned buildings and course notes. Fillable forms include PEEPs in Specialised Housing, Fire Safety Logs, Staff Training Delivery, Fire Warden Fire Safety duties and Staff Training Records.

Please note: Learners are advised that this is a supplementary course to the Practical PEEPs and PEEPs & Neurodiversity courses.  It is strongly advised that these courses should be completed prior to undertaking this course.
