January 2021: Flat fires evacuated prior to Fire and Rescue Services arriving:

Southgate, London: Ten engines and around 70 firefighters attended. Six people evacuated before firefighters arrived. No reports of injuries.

Willesden Green, London: Part of a flat on the first floor of a three-story block was damaged by fire. Around 20 people left the building before firefighters arrived. No reports of injuries.

Limehouse, London: Firefighters assisted around 20 people from the building to safety and worked quickly to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties.

Kelly Avenue, Peckham, London: Twenty-five firefighters called to the fire. Fifteen people left the building before the Brigade arrived. No reports of injuries.

Beckham Road, London: Part of a flat on the third floor of a four-storey building was damaged by fire. Around 40 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. No reports of any injuries.

2020: Tower block fires resulting in evacuations

Feltham: Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a fire at a block of flats on Lemon Grove in Feltham. Around 50 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.

Plumstead: Flat fire on 20th floor. 30 people self-evacuated

Brentford: Huge pillar of smoke as fire rages in Ealing road tower block.

Manor Park: A three-roomed flat on the ground floor of the building was damaged by fire. Around 10 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued one man who was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.  

Kennington: Around 100 people evacuated their homes on the Brandon Estate this afternoon after a serious blaze in a first floor flat.

Birmingham: Residents from an 11-storey tower block in Birmingham were evacuated after a severe fire broke out in a flat.

Canning Town: Half of a four-roomed flat on the 12th floor of the building was damaged by fire. Around 150 residents left the building before the Brigade arrived. 

West Midlands: Crews from eight fire appliances arrived in under five minutes and led 11 people to safety – with eight of those receiving a check-up. A total of 60 people self-evacuated.

Manchester: Fire breaks out at Northern Quarter tower block. Reports of people in the building being ‘woken up with pots and pans” after fire started – and ‘screaming’ in the street below.

Deptford: 100 people had to be evacuated from the building by firefighters due to the amount of smoke. Around half of them are likely to be permanently displaced and are being rehoused by the local housing association.

Maida Vale: Part of a flat on the 17th floor of a 20-storey block was alight. Around 50 people left the building before the brigade arrived.

Bethnal Green: Four people were rescued by firefighters and more than 100 residents escaped as a blaze ripped through a block of flats in Bethnal Green.

Harrow: A bedsit on the first floor of the building was destroyed by fire. Around 50 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. One woman died at the scene.

South Bermondsey: An electrical cable in a lift shaft was destroyed by fire and part of the lift car on the 14th floor was also damaged in the blaze. Around 50 people left the building before the Brigade arrived.

Islington: A split level maisonette on the sixth and seventh floors of the building was destroyed by fire. Part of a four roomed flat on the eighth floor was also damaged by the blaze. Around 80 people left the building before the Brigade arrived.
