The Housing, Communities and Local Government (HCLG) Committee has today published the Government’s response to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry and building safety. While the Committee’s findings called for stronger national oversight, the Government has not committed to a dedicated mechanism. Instead, it notes that “the Cabinet Office is leading work to consider how oversight of inquiry mechanisms can be improved more broadly”
