Equality For All

The Law: The Equality Act came into force in October 2010 providing a modern, single legal framework with clear, streamlined law to more effectively tackle disadvantage and discrimination.

The Equality & Human Rights Commission (EHRC) made a submission to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry relating to vulnerable and disabled people, which focused on the following issues:

  • the right to life
  • cladding
  • the need to act quickly
  • fire safety
  • vulnerable groups
  • equality and non-discrimination
